The 'Did They or Didn't They?' Test
Natural-looking results pass one simple test: people notice you look great but can't pinpoint what's different. If friends and colleagues say 'you look refreshed' or 'did you change your hair?' rather than 'did you get Botox?' — that's the sweet spot. Good aesthetic work enhances your natural features rather than creating new ones.
Signs of Natural Botox
Natural Botox results allow full facial expression with reduced wrinkles — you can still raise your eyebrows, smile fully, and show emotion. The forehead isn't completely smooth (some movement is natural and desirable). There's no 'shiny' or overly tight appearance. Both sides of the face look symmetrical and balanced. The overall impression is youthful energy, not a frozen mask.
Signs of Natural Filler
Natural filler results maintain facial proportions — lips are enhanced but proportionate to the face, cheeks have lift but don't look overstuffed, and the profile view looks balanced from every angle. There's no visible migration, lumps, or Tyndall effect (bluish discoloration). The face moves naturally when you talk, smile, and make expressions. Most importantly, the person still looks like themselves.
What to Do If You're Not Happy
If your results don't look natural, the first step is always a conversation with your provider. Many issues resolve on their own as swelling subsides (give it 2 weeks). If something is genuinely off, options include: dissolving filler with hyaluronidase, waiting for Botox to wear off (3-4 months), or getting a touch-up to improve symmetry. At Lumière, we include follow-up assessments because achieving the perfect result sometimes takes refinement.
