About Lumière

What makes Lumière different from other med spas?+
Lumière is a provider-led practice, not a franchise or chain. Every treatment is performed by a licensed, experienced aesthetic professional — never a technician following a script. We invest in the best products, devices, and training available, and we operate with full transparency in pricing, credentials, and results. Our philosophy is simple: enhance what you have, never create what you don't.
Are your providers licensed and certified?+
Yes, every provider at Lumière holds active medical licensing in Nevada. Our team includes board-certified dermatologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and licensed estheticians — all with specialized aesthetic training. Every injector completes a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education annually, including advanced anatomy courses and manufacturer certifications.
Do you offer virtual consultations?+
Yes. We offer complimentary virtual consultations for patients who want to discuss treatment options before visiting in person. Virtual consultations are conducted via secure video call with one of our providers and typically last 15-20 minutes. You can book a virtual consultation through our website.
What safety protocols do you follow?+
We follow strict medical-grade safety protocols, including single-use supplies for every patient, FDA-approved products sourced directly from manufacturers, documented emergency procedures, and comprehensive medical history screening before any treatment. Our facility meets or exceeds all state health department requirements, and we maintain current AMSPA (American Med Spa Association) membership.
Are treatments performed by doctors?+
Our treatments are performed by a team that includes MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, and licensed estheticians — depending on the specific procedure. Injectable treatments are always performed by providers with advanced injection training. All clinical treatments are overseen by our medical director. During your consultation, you'll meet your provider and can ask about their specific credentials and experience.
What if I'm unhappy with my results?+
Your satisfaction is our priority. We schedule complimentary follow-up appointments 2 weeks after injectable treatments to assess results and make any needed adjustments. If you're not happy, we'll discuss options — which may include touch-ups, dissolving filler (for HA fillers), or developing a revised treatment plan. We stand behind our work and want you to love your results.

First Visit

What should I expect at my first consultation?+
Your first consultation is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation with one of our providers. They'll discuss your goals and concerns, examine the relevant treatment areas, explain your options with realistic expectations, and provide a clear treatment plan with transparent pricing. Most consultations last 20-30 minutes. You're welcome to start treatment the same day if you'd like, but there's never any pressure to do so.
Do I need to prepare anything before my visit?+
No special preparation is needed for a consultation. If you're considering injectables, it helps to avoid blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, vitamin E) and alcohol for 2-3 days beforehand in case you decide to proceed with treatment. Bring a list of your current medications and any reference photos of results you like — they're very helpful for communicating your goals.
How long does a consultation take?+
Initial consultations typically last 20-30 minutes. If you decide to proceed with treatment the same day, plan for an additional 15-60 minutes depending on the procedure. We never rush — your visit takes as long as it needs to.
Is my consultation really free?+
Yes, all initial consultations at Lumière are complimentary — whether in person or virtual. There's no hidden fee, no deposit required, and no obligation to book a treatment. We believe you should have the opportunity to meet your provider, discuss your goals, and understand your options before making any commitment.
Will I be pressured to buy treatments?+
Never. Lumière is a pressure-free practice. Our providers are compensated for quality outcomes, not sales volume. Your consultation is genuinely educational — we want you to make an informed decision on your own timeline. Many of our patients take days or weeks to decide, and that's completely fine.
Can I bring a friend or partner?+
Absolutely. Many patients bring a friend, partner, or family member for support, especially on their first visit. They're welcome to sit in on your consultation. Some of our best referrals come from friends who tag along and decide they want a consultation too.
What forms will I need to fill out?+
You'll complete a medical history form and consent documents before your consultation. We offer digital intake forms that you can complete on your phone or computer before arriving — this saves time and lets your provider review your information in advance. If you prefer, paper forms are available at the front desk.

Injectables

How long does Botox last?+
Botox results typically last 3-4 months, though this varies by individual. Factors that influence duration include your metabolism, muscle strength, treatment area, and dosing. Many patients who maintain consistent treatment schedules find their results gradually last longer over time as the targeted muscles weaken with repeated treatment.
Does Botox hurt?+
Most patients describe Botox injections as a brief pinch or sting — it's very tolerable. We use ultra-fine needles, and the entire injection process takes just a few minutes. If you're particularly sensitive, we can apply a topical numbing cream before treatment. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable it is.
What's the difference between Botox and fillers?+
Botox and fillers work in completely different ways. Botox relaxes specific muscles to smooth wrinkles caused by facial movement (like frown lines and crow's feet). Fillers add volume beneath the skin to restore lost fullness, enhance features, or smooth static wrinkles (like nasolabial folds). Many patients benefit from both — Botox for the upper face and fillers for the mid and lower face.
When will I see results from Botox?+
Botox results begin appearing within 3-5 days, with full effects visible at 10-14 days. This gradual onset is actually a good thing — it means the change looks natural, not sudden. We schedule a 2-week follow-up for first-time patients to assess results and make any adjustments.
Can Botox look natural?+
Absolutely — and at Lumière, natural is the only result we aim for. The 'frozen' look comes from over-treatment or poor injection technique. Our providers use precise dosing to soften lines while preserving your ability to express naturally. The goal is looking refreshed, not 'done.' Most of our patients report that people notice they look great but can't pinpoint what's different.
Are fillers reversible?+
Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers — which include all Juvederm and Restylane products — can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This makes HA fillers one of the safest options available, because results can be partially or fully reversed if needed. Non-HA fillers (like Sculptra or Radiesse) are not reversible but do naturally metabolize over time.
What is filler migration and should I worry?+
Filler migration occurs when injected filler moves from its intended location. While it can happen, it's uncommon when treatment is performed by an experienced injector using proper technique. Factors that reduce risk include using the right filler consistency for each area, injecting at the correct tissue depth, and following aftercare instructions. At Lumière, our providers' training specifically addresses this concern.
How long do fillers last?+
Duration depends on the filler type and treatment area. Lip fillers typically last 6-12 months. Cheek fillers last 12-18 months. Jawline fillers can last 12-24 months. Tear trough fillers may last 9-12 months. Your provider will give you specific expectations based on the product and area being treated.
What's the difference between Botox and Dysport?+
Both are FDA-approved neuromodulators made from botulinum toxin type A. Dysport tends to spread slightly more broadly (useful for larger areas like the forehead), may have a faster onset (2-3 days vs. 3-5 for Botox), and some patients find one works better for them than the other. Our providers will recommend the best option based on your anatomy and goals.
Can I combine multiple injectable treatments?+
Yes, and many patients do. A common combination is Botox for the upper face (forehead, frown lines, crow's feet) with filler for the mid and lower face (cheeks, lips, jawline). Combining treatments in a single visit is safe, efficient, and often produces the most balanced, harmonious results. Your provider will design a comprehensive plan during your consultation.

Skin Treatments

What's the difference between a HydraFacial and a regular facial?+
A HydraFacial is a medical-grade treatment that uses patented vortex technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate skin simultaneously — delivering significantly more dramatic results than a traditional spa facial. While a regular facial is relaxing and beneficial for general skin maintenance, a HydraFacial actively treats specific concerns like congestion, dullness, and dehydration with immediate visible improvement.
How many microneedling sessions do I need?+
Most patients see optimal results after 3-4 microneedling sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. However, some improvements are visible after a single treatment. For deeper concerns like acne scarring or significant texture issues, 4-6 sessions may be recommended. Your provider will create a treatment plan based on your specific goals and starting point.
What's downtime like after a chemical peel?+
Downtime varies by peel depth. Light peels (like a lunchtime peel) have minimal downtime — slight redness for a few hours and mild flaking for 1-2 days. Medium-depth peels involve 3-5 days of noticeable peeling and redness. Deep peels require 7-14 days of recovery. Your provider will recommend the appropriate depth based on your concerns and available downtime.
Is laser resurfacing painful?+
We apply topical numbing cream before laser treatments, and most patients find the procedure very tolerable — typically describing it as a warm, prickly sensation. More aggressive laser settings may cause brief moments of discomfort, but treatment sessions are relatively short (15-45 minutes). Post-treatment, the skin feels similar to a sunburn for 1-2 days.
Can laser treatments work on all skin tones?+
This is an important question. Some laser types carry higher risks for darker skin tones, including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. At Lumière, we offer multiple laser platforms specifically to address this — certain lasers and settings are safer and more effective for melanin-rich skin. Your provider will assess your skin type (Fitzpatrick scale) and recommend the appropriate technology for you.
How long before a special event can I get a facial?+
For a HydraFacial or gentle facial, you can safely book 1-3 days before an event — many patients get them the day before with great results. For chemical peels, plan at least 2-3 weeks ahead for light peels, and 4-6 weeks for medium-depth peels. For microneedling or laser treatments, allow at least 2-4 weeks for full recovery. When in doubt, consult with us early so we can time your treatments perfectly.
What skincare should I use after treatments?+
Post-treatment skincare varies by procedure, but general principles apply: use gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and moisturizers, avoid active ingredients (retinol, acids, vitamin C) until your provider clears you, apply mineral-based SPF 30+ daily, and stay hydrated. Your provider will give you specific post-treatment instructions tailored to your procedure.
Can I wear makeup after my treatment?+
For most injectable treatments, you can apply makeup after 24 hours — just be gentle around injection sites. For facials and light peels, mineral makeup is usually fine the next day. For more intensive treatments like microneedling, laser resurfacing, or deep peels, wait until your provider gives you the green light — typically 3-7 days depending on the procedure.

Pricing & Membership

How much do treatments cost?+
Pricing varies by treatment type and extent. Botox ranges from $10-15 per unit (40-60 units typical for 3 areas). Dermal fillers range from $650-850 per syringe. HydraFacials start at $199. Chemical peels range from $150-400 depending on depth. During your consultation, your provider will give you exact pricing for your personalized treatment plan — no surprises.
Do you offer payment plans?+
Yes. We partner with CareCredit and Cherry to offer flexible payment plans for treatments. Options include interest-free financing for 6-12 months on qualifying purchases. You can apply during your visit or in advance through the financing provider's website. Our patient coordinators can walk you through the options.
What is a med spa membership?+
A Lumière membership is a monthly subscription that gives you credits toward treatments, percentage discounts on additional services, complimentary perks (like quarterly facials), and priority booking access. Think of it as a way to invest in consistent aesthetic maintenance while saving significantly compared to à la carte pricing.
Is a membership worth it?+
If you're getting regular treatments — Botox every 3-4 months, occasional fillers, and periodic facials — a membership almost always saves you money. Our Essential tier ($199/month) includes $200 in monthly treatment credits plus 15% off additional treatments and a quarterly HydraFacial. For consistent patients, the savings add up quickly. Use our savings calculator on the membership page to see your specific numbers.
Can I pause my membership?+
Yes. Life happens, and we understand. Members can pause their membership for up to 2 months per year without losing accrued credits. If you need a longer pause, contact our patient coordinator team to discuss your options. We want our membership to feel flexible, not like a trap.
Do you offer gift cards?+
Yes, Lumière gift cards are available in any denomination and can be used for any treatment or product. They make excellent gifts for birthdays, holidays, bridal parties, or anyone who deserves a little luxury. Gift cards can be purchased in-studio or online and never expire.
Does insurance cover aesthetic treatments?+
Aesthetic treatments are elective and not covered by medical insurance. However, certain conditions treated with similar technologies (like hyperhidrosis treated with Botox) may have insurance coverage. If you believe your treatment may qualify for medical coverage, we can discuss this during your consultation and provide documentation if applicable.
How do I use my membership credits?+
Membership credits are automatically applied when you book treatments. Simply schedule your appointment as usual, and your credits will be deducted from the treatment cost. If the treatment exceeds your available credits, you pay the difference at the discounted member rate. Unused credits roll over for up to 2 months.

Safety & Aftercare

Are aesthetic treatments safe?+
When performed by qualified, trained providers using FDA-approved products in a proper medical setting, aesthetic treatments have an excellent safety record. Botox has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2002 with millions of treatments performed annually. Dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser treatments similarly have extensive safety data. As with any medical procedure, there are potential side effects, which your provider will discuss with you thoroughly before treatment.
What are the possible side effects?+
Common side effects of injectables include temporary redness, swelling, and bruising at injection sites — these typically resolve within a few days. Less common side effects vary by treatment and will be discussed in detail during your consultation. Serious complications are rare but can include infection, vascular occlusion (with fillers), or allergic reaction. Our providers are trained to prevent, recognize, and manage all potential complications.
Who should NOT get injectables?+
Injectables are not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections in the treatment area, have a known allergy to any ingredient in the product, have certain neuromuscular disorders (for Botox), or have bleeding disorders. Your provider will review your complete medical history during consultation to ensure you're a safe candidate.
What should I avoid after treatment?+
After injectables: avoid intense exercise, saunas, and lying flat for 4 hours. Don't rub or massage treated areas. Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for 24 hours. After skin treatments: follow your provider's specific aftercare instructions, which may include avoiding sun exposure, certain skincare products, and makeup for a period of time. We provide written aftercare instructions for every treatment.
What if I bruise or swell?+
Mild bruising and swelling are normal after injectable treatments and typically resolve within 3-7 days. To minimize bruising: apply arnica cream or gel, use cool compresses (not ice directly on skin), avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, and sleep elevated the first night. If bruising occurs, it can usually be covered with makeup after 24 hours.
When should I call the office after my treatment?+
Contact us if you experience severe or increasing pain, significant asymmetry that hasn't improved after 2 weeks, signs of infection (warmth, increasing redness, discharge), difficulty swallowing or breathing (rare, seek emergency care), vision changes after filler treatment (seek emergency care immediately), or any symptom that concerns you. We'd always rather hear from you and reassure you than have you worry alone.
Can I exercise after injectables?+
We recommend avoiding intense exercise for 24 hours after Botox and 24-48 hours after fillers. Light walking is fine. Exercise increases blood flow and heart rate, which can increase swelling, bruising, and theoretically affect how the product settles. After 24-48 hours, you can return to your normal exercise routine.
How do I know if I'm having a reaction?+
Normal post-treatment effects include mild redness, slight swelling, and tenderness at injection sites. Signs that may indicate a reaction and warrant calling our office include: rapidly increasing swelling, hives or rash spreading beyond the treatment area, severe headache, fever, or any breathing difficulty. Severe allergic reactions are extremely rare but our team is trained and equipped to handle them. When in doubt, call us.

Special Considerations

Can I get treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding?+
We do not perform injectable treatments (Botox or fillers) on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as these products have not been tested for safety in these populations. Certain facial treatments like gentle facials and HydraFacials may be appropriate — discuss with your provider. We're happy to create a treatment plan for after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Is there an age minimum for treatments?+
Patients must be 18 or older for all injectable treatments. For non-injectable skin treatments, patients 16 and older may be treated with parental consent. 'Preventative Botox' for patients in their early-to-mid 20s is increasingly common and, when done conservatively, can help delay the formation of expression lines.
Do you treat men?+
Absolutely. A growing percentage of our patients are men seeking natural-looking aesthetic improvements. Male facial anatomy differs from female anatomy, and our providers have specific training in masculine aesthetic goals — typically focusing on maintaining strong, defined features while softening signs of aging. Men's treatments often require adjusted dosing (larger facial muscles typically need more units of Botox).
Do you treat darker skin tones?+
Yes, and this is an area where provider expertise is especially important. Darker skin tones have different considerations for certain treatments, particularly lasers and chemical peels, due to the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Our providers are trained in treating all Fitzpatrick skin types and will select products, devices, and settings specifically appropriate for your skin tone.
What's the difference between a med spa and a regular spa?+
A medical spa (med spa) operates under medical oversight and offers medical-grade treatments that a traditional day spa cannot legally provide — including injectables (Botox, fillers), prescription-strength chemical peels, laser treatments, and other device-based procedures. At Lumière, every clinical treatment is performed or supervised by a licensed medical professional. A regular spa focuses on relaxation services like massage, basic facials, and body treatments.
